Woods and orchards
Saint-Hilaire-St-Mesmin, at the leafy south-western edge of the Orléans agglomeration, links the Val and Sologne regions. Outside the town centre the landscape has been shaped by centuries of fruit-growing and winemaking. Further south, the atmosphere changes again as you reach the shade of the Sologne woods.
