Every year, Orleans looks a bit like New Orleans with a host of concerts and events that all have one thing in common—the sounds of jazz.

Orleans puts on a rich and eclectic programme throughout the year at venues around the city.

Jazz in the spotlight in Orléans

Held in April, the Jazz or Jazz Festival draws music fans of all ages eager to discover music on the international jazz scene and the places from where it hails.

For this event, the Scène Nationale d’Orléans and the Théâtre d’Orléans invite jazz musicians from all over the world to share the latest sounds of the current generation.

Clearly mad about jazz, the Scène Nationale d’Orléans also hosts jazz nights on select Saturdays to honour artists and musicians from near and far.


Jazz in the open air

In June, jazz lovers can head to the Jardin de l’Évêché, a public garden with a superb view of the apse of the adjacent Sainte-Croix Cathedral. Organised by Orleans city council in partnership with several local associations, the Jazz à l’Évêché event attracts hundreds of spectators who come to enjoy a balmy summer’s evening pulsating to the rhythms of jazz.
